‘The hub’s going into lockdown,’ Tosh reported, sounding calm despite the klaxons and the flashing lights.
‘What for?’ Owen replied.
‘I don’t know yet. It's just one of the automated self defence systems in place.’
‘Hang on, doesn’t a lockdown mean there’s something inside with us then?’
‘Not necessarily. It could also be an external agent or threat.’
‘So, how does that help? If stuff is happening out there and we’re the only ones that can stop it, what good is it if we’re locked inside with no way out to stop it?’
‘I never said the system was perfect.’
