torchwood100Summary: Greg wants to better understand the complex relationship between Jack and Doctor Brennan. A double drabble.
Greg traced circles on Jack's chest with his fingertip as they lay together on the cot in the beach hut Jack was supposedly calling home. For all its lack of space, the two of them had made quite a cosy scene of it. Just so long as you didn't fancy a hot shower and a cup of tea when you got up.
‘Tell me about you and Doctor Brennan,’ Greg said, letting his fingers continue to wander across warm skin.
‘What’s to tell?’ Jack replied, taking Greg's hand in his and pulling it to his lips to kiss it.
‘Just… well, it seems to me that you don’t exactly see eye to eye.’
There was a mirth-filled little sound from Jack. ‘Tilda Brennan doesn’t much care for aliens as a general rule. They’re a means to an end at best, a cockroach under her shoe that needs to be crushed at worst. That means there’s a divide a mile wide between us when it comes to dealing with them.’
‘Surely though you take direction from Torchwood One in London, right?’
‘If it were that simple, Brennan wouldn’t be in charge. That’s why I've got to keep my eye on her.’
