Summary: Jack awakens to some startling developments. A double drabble.
Ianto was startled awake by Jack's sudden lurch upright in the night. Just when he thought they might get one night of blissful repose that lasted more than two hours. He should've known that simply wasn't possible.
'Oh, God,' he heard Jack murmur before he'd had a chance to roll over and find out what was the matter. He was forced to squint his eyes shut as Jack switched on the bedside lamp, blinded by the sudden onslaught of light. When he opened his eyes he wished he hadn't.
'Oh, God,' Jack repeated, loudly and even more frantic than before. He was sitting upright in their bed, a panic-stricken look on his face as he gaped at the balloon shape his stomach was making. 'I swear I didn't do anything!' he said, cutting off any accusations from his lover.
'Are you okay?' Ianto was surprised by how calm he sounded.
'Do I look okay to you?' He pulled up his t-shirt and stared incredulously at the mound his stomach made. 'God, I swore I'd never do this again.'
'I'll call Owen,' Ianto said, reaching for his phone. 'God I hate it when things go “bump” in the night,' he muttered.
