torchwood100Summary: Yvonne's day has just gotten a whole lot better. A double drabble.
'You're in a good mood,' Ianto observed, setting down the coffee and a pile of fresh reports for Yvonne. She realised that she'd been humming aloud rather than just in her head, such was her mood.
'I am, actually,' she agreed.
'Did I miss an important memo?' he asked, so diligent and proud of being on top of things. It was one of the reasons Yvonne liked having him around as her assistant.
'No, no,' she assured him. 'In fact, I just got off a call that is going to result in us securing a very important piece of alien technology.'
'Oh, I see. And who have we procured it from?'
Yvonne grinned. Ianto was going to enjoy this, almost as much as she was going to enjoy telling him. 'Torchwood,' she replied. She didn't wait for him to point out that it didn't make sense. 'One disgruntled employee from our little outpost in Cardiff,' she explained. 'Found herself Object One and is prepared to hand it over to us.'
'Object One? Sounds promising.'
'More than you know. Now, no time for coffee. Arrange the chopper and a car to meet me in Cardiff. I'm seeing to this one personally.'
