drabble_zoneSummary: Tosh thinks Ianto may have forgiven Jack a little to easily. A double drabble.
‘I didn’t see you and Jack at the buffet breakfast,’ Tosh said, trying not to smirk over the rim of her coffee mug as she took the first sip. As nice as St David’s Hotel had been last night, their coffee still wasn’t a patch on Ianto’s. She waited a beat, making sure she didn’t break eye contact with her friend, convinced he’d crumble and spill the beans to her if she just persisted.
‘We didn’t stay at the hotel last night,’ he replied, keeping his expression neutral.
‘Oh?’
‘We went back to mine, if you must know. It was definitely one place we wouldn’t risk running into ourselves.’
Tosh was intrigued by the admission. ‘He was gone a long time,’ she replied, letting Ianto fill in the blanks. ‘I thought maybe you might leave him in the doghouse for a while.’ If it had been here she might at least have let Jack stew for a few days, just to make sure he understood that he had to earn the right to walk back into their lives, particularly the lives of those who shared more than just a job.
Ianto shrugged. ‘Jack isn’t the one with a limited lifespan.’
