Summary: Owen prefers to let Ianto be the keeper of records. A double drabble.
‘Oi, Teaboy,’ Owen called out from his medical bay, waiting for the sound of over-polished shoes to halt and peer over the railing.
‘Yes? And, just for the record, that’s not my name.’
‘Yeah, whatever,’ Owen replied. ‘Bet you never complain about any of the names Jack gives you.’
‘His are more creative, not to mention more accurate.’
Owen snorted. ‘I don’t even want to know.’
‘Is there something you wanted, or is this just a segue to nowhere?’
‘Yeah, I wanted to pull up a bunch of old medical records for this stupid cold case Gwen lumped me with.’
‘Try NHS.gov.uk.’
‘Yeah, funny. Try 1941. I’ve got a bunch of Torchwood files from some medical bloke called Greg Bishop, but I need the actual hospital records. These jokers back in the forties were rubbish with their paperwork.’
‘Much like their counterparts in the naughties,’ Ianto quipped.
‘Aren’t you just full of snippy comebacks today?’
Ianto heaved a sigh. ‘I can't just magic things up because you want them. Even I have my limits. If they still exist, they’ll be at the National Library in Aberystwyth.’
Owen smirked. ‘Sounds like you’ve got a bit of a drive then.’
