torchwood100Summary: Ianto is torn between following orders and doing the right thing. A double drabble.
Ianto felt utterly depleted of emotion as the boat bobbed through the waves, Cardiff bay and the barrage finally coming into view. He’d never been so glad for the sight of dry land in his life. What Jack had kept secret out there of Flat Holm Island defied comprehension. It has obliterated every shred of his highly sensitive emotional spectrum just keeping up with Jack who treated the whole distasteful process as part and parcel of the job – albeit a part he didn't want anyone else to know about. All except Ianto who was now in on the secret.
‘When we get back to the hub I need you to erase the rift records for Jonha’s arrival here,’ Jack told him just as the dock loomed up before them.
‘But that’s…’ Ianto couldn’t even finish the sentence. Not only was it wrong that they were trying to hide this, it was also totally against protocol. Deleting any log of rift activity was tantamount to treason. That data was critical to their analysis of the rift’s activity and likely future events, not to mention a point of reference for other historical analyses.
‘All of it,’ Jack said coldly. ‘That’s an order.’
