Summary: Ianto is enjoying the view. A double drabble.
‘You’re not going to fall asleep on me, are you?’ Jack asked, watching Ianto sprawled on the picnic blanket.
‘Just because I'm lying down does not automatically mean I'm going to drift off to sleep.’
‘Could’ve fooled me.’
Ianto snorted. ‘Can’t I just lie here and enjoy the view?’
Jack gave him a puzzled look, taking in the rolling welsh valleys. ‘I think you’re looking in the wrong direction.’
‘I’m cloud watching.’
‘Seen any good ones?’
‘Loads,’ Ianto replied, deadpan.
Jack lowered himself back onto his elbows and took up a spot lying down next to him, making sure that their bodies were pressed together. ‘Okay, so tell me what you see,’ he said, beginning to gaze up at the fluffy white objects as they sailed by. He hadn’t pegged Ianto as the type to watch clouds go by, but then how often did they get a chance to relax like this?
‘That one there is an ostrich,’ he said, pointing up.
‘Not a flamingo?’ Jack teased.
‘Find your own,’ he was told.
Jack stared for a long time, struggling to see anything but clouds. ‘Hey,’ he finally said, ‘that one looks like a weevil!’
‘Only you would say that.’
