Jack frowned at the phone in his hand. But who do we call? He cast a gaze at his three teammates, hoping one of them had the answer to get them out of the hub's lockdown so that they could save Gwen.
‘We could always try Detective Swanson at the Cardiff Met,’ Ianto offered.
Owen groaned. ‘No way. That's like asking a four year old to help. What exactly are they gonna do?’
‘Tell her we need help to solve her triple homicide?’
Jack silently and begrudgingly agreed. That they had phone reception at all was a small miracle. He couldn't let it go to waste, especially when they had so few alternatives.
‘It's not a bad option,’ Tosh conceded.
Jack would end up owing them, for sure, but what other choice was there?
‘You'll find the number in there listed as "in case of emergency",’ Ianto replied.
‘Which it's not,’ Owen haughtily reiterated.
‘Keep thinking like that and you're gonna get yourself noticed,’ Jack said, smirking at his sometimes lover. He dialled the number. ‘Yes, I'd like to speak with Detective Kathy Swanson. It's Captain Jack Harkness from Torchwood and it's urgent.’
Owen rolled his eyes. ‘Bloody teacher's pet.’
