Summary: Ianto is all that stands between Owen and opening the rift. A double drabble.
Ianto held his ground as the gun in his hand grew clammy, pointed at Owen. He simply couldn’t let Owen open the rift. It was too risky without all of Tosh’s equations, and even then he had his reservations. He didn’t want Tosh and Jack to be stuck in 1941 any more than the rest of them, but he knew that for Owen the stakes were much higher. If they could open the rift and set it to lock on specific time coordinates, maybe they could bring back Diane. Owen couldn’t understand that Diane had chosen to leave. She didn’t want to stay here, even if Owen was completely besotted by her.
Owen was going to do it, even being held at gunpoint. The only way to stop him would be to shoot him. But if he didn’t shoot, then maybe the rift really could bring back Tosh and Jack. He wanted them back. His heart ached to think that he might never see Jack again, and he’d move heaven and earth to get them both back, but was this too much?
His shot went intentionally wide, hitting Owen’s shoulder but it wasn’t enough. He wanted Jack back too badly.
