Summary: Further research leads to inconclusive results. A double drabble.
Object DP05546979C8V - File notes addendum (I. Jones - Torchwood Officer 566, Cardiff)
Review completed 17 October 2007. Several detailed scans undertaken to clarify whether the object emits any kind of energy or field, but nothing discernible detected. Does not appear to have any power source or other capabilities for retaining energy to function, assuming that it requires power.
Review conducted in 1983 was similarly inconclusive after having retrieved the item from a local resident in Adamstown who, as doctors at the time described, as “the man who had more broken bones than unbroken bones, just not all at the same time”. He was either an incredibly clumsy individual, or the item was, as he so appropriately described in his personal diary “cursed”.
As to the item’s history of creating misfortune, I note that during our review, the hub randomly lost all power, causing Captain Jack Harkness to trip and break his ankle, that the blackout caused several computers to short circuit, resulting in a minor fire, and that pizza left over from the night before was found completely mouldy despite being in the fridge overnight (though this may be entirely unrelated).
Assessment: Review again in ten years, hopefully by someone else.
