drabble_zoneSummary: Tosh is beginning to see what the pendant is truly trying to teach her. A double drabble.
Tosh found herself just sitting there, all alone in the boardroom. Even without the pendant on, it felt like a respite from being surrounded by the others and all their internal thoughts that, up until a few days ago, she simply hadn’t been privy to.
It was too much for her. Bad enough that she now knew Gwen felt sorry for her in her desperate, single existence. Even worse that Owen was shagging Gwen, not even doing it to get up her nose because Owen seemingly had no idea she had a crush on him.
And just now, she’d been so preoccupied by thoughts of how much her life sucked by comparison, that having Ianto briefly intrude to collect their dirty mugs had revealed the far more shocking realisation that being shunned and disregarded was nothing compared to the suffering going unrecognised right under her nose. She’d been bitter that no one took any notice of her, only to realise that she too was guilty of ignoring the feelings of others. They were all just as selfish as each other.
Perhaps that was the lesson Mary was trying to teach her – not to get wrapped up in one’s own world.
