Summary: Jack is curious as to why Ianto is heading out. A double drabble.
‘Where are you going?’ Jack asked, practically bumping into Ianto as he exited the lift Ianto had been waiting for to arrive. Jack’s hair had that slight tousled look that carried the slightly salty scent of the bay. He’d clearly been out there for some time to come back smelling so briny.
‘Just out,’ Ianto replied.
Jack's eyebrow arched at the reply. ‘Just out?’
‘Yes. Is that so hard to believe?’
‘Well, I mean, usually you say you’re off to the shops, or to pick up dry cleaning, or collect the post.’
‘Well, today I'm just going out.’
Jack’s expression narrowed with suspicion. ‘Okay, who are you meeting up with and why?’
There was an exasperated sigh from the Welshman. ‘I’m not hooking up with anybody! I’m just heading up for a bit of fresh air. It’s been days since I was outside. I’ve either been here working, or squashed beside you in that ridiculous thing you call a bed. I’m not even sure if Cardiff still exists up there or if it’s been sucked into a black hole. Thought it might be worth double checking.’
‘Squashed up with me?’ Jack asked. ‘You say it like that’s a bad thing.’
