Summary: Jack has never been good at sitting idle. A double drabble.
Jack hated being useless. He hated being told what to do even more, so being told not to do anything and stay out of the way grated on him unbelievably.
He couldn't put his finger on why he'd let Ianto order him, but the longer he sat in the car waiting, the more he knew he couldn't.
Ianto had been working the case for weeks without telling anyone. Even though he was convinced that he knew what was going on and ready to confront it head on, Jack couldn't put aside the worry that perhaps Ianto had gotten in too deep. He'd been drinking half the night for a start, and Jack knew that never bode well for keeping your wits about you. That was why he always drank water.
Something was bothering him. All those missing people. Could one barmaid really have managed all that on her own? Jack decided she couldn't, which meant Ianto had no idea what he'd be up against, and neither did Jack. He shoved open the car door and strode back towards the pub. They might not know what they were up against but he wasn't going to leave Ianto to face it alone.
