Summary: Jack is sporting an unbelievable injury. A triple drabble.
‘Jesus, what the hell happened to you?’ Owen asked as Jack came down the steps of the medical bay sporting a huge lump on his forehead.
‘I walked into a door,’ Jack replied, sounding ridiculous even as the words came spilling out of his mouth.
Owen snorted his disbelief. ‘Yeah, right. Did Teaboy finally sock you one? Knew he had a decent right hook in him. It was bound to happen one day.’
‘It wasn’t me!’ Ianto yelled back. ‘Not on this occasion.’
‘You can admit it, it's fine. I’m condoning it because your boyfriend can be a right obnoxious git when it suits him and he bloody deserves a decking far more often than he actually ever gets one.’
‘Hey, just remember who signs your paycheque,’ Jack warned him, offering a scowl at the same time, no matter how much moving those muscles in his face actually hurt.
‘That would be me,’ Ianto replied, gracefully descending the steps to join them. ‘And just for the record, he really did walk into a door. It’s what happens when your boyfriend tells you there’s not enough light down in that bunker of his and he continues to ignore your repeated attempts to have the situation rectified.’
‘The door just wasn't where it was supposed to be,’ Jack complained, gingerly touching the growing purple welt and hissing at the ice cold compress.
Ianto arched an eyebrow at him, proffering a bag of frozen peas he’d retrieved from the kitchen freezer. ‘Attached to the hinge in the doorway? Shame on it for being so inconsiderate.’
‘You know what I mean! Hanging open when it shouldn't have been.’
‘Well, that’s what you get for wanting to get up at three am to potter around the hub when you should be in bed with me.’
