Summary: Owen wants to be sure Jack has fully thought through his decision. A double drabble.

‘You sure you’ve thought this through?’ Owen asked, looking at Jack’s reflection in the mirror even as he was fixing his own tie to make it sit straight. ‘Bloody stupid things,’ he muttered. ‘I hate ties. Only wear them for weddings and funerals and even then it’s under sufferance.’ Today was no different.

‘I’m sure,’ Jack replied. ‘Come here,’ he told Owen, turning to help him fix his tie in the same way that Ianto usually fussed with Jack’s clothes. ‘Can’t have you ruining the photos. Ianto will have a fit.’

Owen squirmed as Jack seemed to be trying to strangle him with the grey silk. ‘Seriously, though. You really have given this proper thought, right? I mean, a whole bloody lifetime of putting up with Ianto’s nitpicking, anal retentive, know it all, smart arse–’ Jack tugged the knot a little too tight, cutting off Owen’s description. He smacked Jack’s hand away and pulled it loose again, starting over, this time without help. Stupid sodding weddings.

‘I’m sure, Owen,’ Jack repeated. ‘I haven’t thought about anything else for months. None of us are perfect, but when you find someone who doesn’t care that you’re not perfect, never let them go.’

Owen should try listening to Jack, sometimes what he says is remarkably wise.
