Title: Not clever enough
Character: Owen, Jack, Tosh, Gwen, Ianto
Author: m_findlow
Author: m_findlow
Rating: PG
Length: 200 words
Summary: There are some things even Tosh doesn't know. A double drabble.
‘But,’ Tosh began, before Jack raised a hand to silence her protestations.
‘I’m with Tosh,’ Ianto agreed. ‘There’s no need for such rudeness.’
Owen shook his head. ‘For once, I agreed with Teaboy. Those snobbish bastards.’
Jack gave a tired eye roll to his team. ‘You can moan all you like but we’re just going to have to put up with it.’ He didn’t have to like the hard truth of it, but he had to spell it out to his team. ‘These guys know way more about everything than we ever will. Their baseline IQ starts at about 450. We see them as being geniuses and they see us as being like neanderthals.’
Gwen frowned at the damaged alien spacecraft. ‘So we’re just meant to stand here and not help them fix the ship?’
Jack shrugged at her assessment. ‘We wouldn’t even know where to begin helping. It’d be like pulling your car into the garage and seeing a bunch of cavemen with clubs coming out to offer to fix it.’
‘We’re not cavemen,’ Ianto said with a scowl, tugging on the cuff of his suit jacket.
‘No,’ Jack agreed, ‘but that is one roleplay we haven’t considered before.’
