Summary: Agnes Havisham wants to make sure her assessment was memorable. A double drabble.
‘My head is killing me,’ Jack moaned, as Ianto slid across a glass of water and two paracetamol.
‘That would be the 1910 recipe for retcon,’ he replied. ‘Not quite as refined as what we're used to. Agnes must have been keeping a stash for emergency use whilst on assessment.’
Jack groaned again, sculling the painkillers and not stopping until the glass was completely empty. ‘I've never been so glad to see the back of anyone. Given she retconned us and we're all still here and Torchwood still standing, why is it I can still remember most of her painful presence here over the past week?’
It was a fair question. Ianto suspected Jack would’ve preferred her entire visit wiped from their memories. ‘We did a rough calculation that she only wiped about an hour's worth of our memory before leaving.’
Jack massaged his temples in slow circles. ‘So, what you're saying is she just wanted to make her goodbye one we'd remember thanks to a massive crudely-made retcon hangover?’
Ianto reached into his pocket and popped two more paracetamol from the packet, offering one to Jack and dry swallowing the other. ‘You have to give her points for creativity.’
