Length: 300 words
Summary: There's no vacation for Ianto without first saying goodbye to his nearest and dearest. A triple drabble.
‘Quit hugging me so bloody tight!’ Ianto complained, certain that he could feel a rib cracking under the pressure exerted by his sister. ‘It's meant to be bon voyage, not farewell forever.’ Part of him was surprised that his sister cared so much. He’d never been big on hugging.
‘Promise me you'll both be safe,’ she said once she finally gave up her vice-like grip on him, letting his drawing in a huge breath, satisfying himself that he was still able to do so.
‘We'll be fine,’ Ianto said, waving away her concerns. ‘We're only going for a few months, and even then it'll only be a few weeks according to your timeline.’
‘Yeah, why is that?’
‘The Doctor,’ Ianto said, as if that answered everything. ‘He has a time machine. I should say we’ll only be gone a few days but with him, his sense of punctuality is somewhere skewed. Expecting us back in a few weeks is erring on the side of caution so that you don't panic and start sticking our faces on the side of milk cartons.’
‘We will be totally fine,’ Jack added, repeating the mantra. ‘Ianto has us booked in for several weeks on a deserted tropical island paradise. We couldn't possibly get into any trouble. The Doctor won't be there. He's our British Airways flight and not the Contiki round-the-world cruise.’
Thank God, Ianto thought, or they very likely would find trouble.
‘Well, just so long as you both come back,’ Rhiannon warned, turning to give Jack the same treatment. If he was in pain he didn't show it, but that could have been due to a lack of blood flow to his brain.
‘With a death grip like yours, I'm starting to reconsider. Not sure either of us can survive another hug.’
