Title: The lost goodbye
Character: Gwen
Author: m_findlow
Author: m_findlow
Rating: PG
Length: 200 words
Summary: The 456 has stolen everything precious to Gwen. A double drabble.
Gwen watched in horror as soundless pictures streamed across the laptop, blurred by tears streaming down her face. She didn't need to hear what was being said to know the awful truth. She could see it in Jack's pained and anguished body language as he clutched his lover in his arms, watching him die. Still the camera kept recording the heart-wrenching scene, and still Gwen couldn't tear her eyes away from it.
Her two best friends were dying and there was nothing she could do. Jack would, of course, survive death itself , but how would he survive a world without Ianto? She didn't even know how she'd survive it. She'd always imagined that if the terrible ever happened that she'd be there with them, able to at least have a chance to say goodbye. That twisted her stomach in knots. She’d never get the chance to tell Ianto how much she loved him. Not as much as Jack, but enough that her world would become infinitely smaller without him in it.
It was cruel and unfair. The 456 had taken everything away from them, even that one last chance to tell her best friend how much he meant to her.
