Summary: Ianto's delay is making the team anxious. A double drabble.
‘How much longer are we going to have to wait?’ Owen complained, kicking the underside of the boardroom table with his sneaker.
Jak tried not to let his own impatience show. ‘Ianto said he wanted to try out his new coffee beans on us.’
‘Not that stupid cat poo stuff, I hope.’
Jack frowned at the description. It wasn’t a great mental image, but Ianto had waxed lyrical about how good it was, and it had been Jck who'd tracked it down and gifted him two bags of it for his birthday. Turning down an offer for Ianto to share it was probably going to land them all in his bad books.
‘It cost a fortune,’ Jack said instead. ‘I guess it takes a while to get it right.’ He hoped so, in any case. It really had cost a bloody fortune. He could have bought Ianto a nice watch for the same price tag.
‘Should we start without it?’ Gwen offered. Clearly she didn’t think Ianto would be done before the hour briefing was over.
Quietly, Jack was starting to think the same. How much trouble could they really get into for not waiting for their traditional coffee starter?
