Summary: Gwen finds Jack's behaviour troubling. A double drabble.
‘Is he okay?’ Gwen asked, frowning as she felt, rather than saw, Jack whip past her, nearly spinning her around in her chair as he went by.
‘Is who okay?’ Owen asked, still focused on the innards of his latest autopsy.
‘Jack. He's been rushing around all afternoon like the world's about to end. It's not, is it?’
Owen snorted a laugh. ‘Didn't he tell you? He's got that stupid dinner thing tonight with Ianto's family. Suddenly he's frantic about getting there on time.’
Gwen checked her watch, spotting Jack whizz by the water tower with a determined and slightly panicked look on his face. ‘But it's only three fifteen. That's loads of time. It's not like we've got any big projects on the go.’ There was leaving on time to shower and dress nicely, but no point if you were then too worked up and exhausted. She was sure Jack wouldn't have to try too hard to make a good first impression.
‘Try telling Jack that. Thinks he's got to solve all the world's problems before five. Mind you, if it gets stuff done, maybe Ianto should invite him round for tea every week.’
