Summary: The world finally makes sense to Ianto. A double drabble.
'You could kiss me,' Ianto said before he could stop himself. 'I mean, only if you wanted to.'
Now was probably the entirely wrong time to make a pass at Jack, but if tonight had shown him anything, it was that he'd been wrong about so much in his life and that he was pushing away every chance of ever being content.
His family wouldn't be around forever, but Jack would be, and without consciously realising it, he had finally seen something in Jack that he wanted more than anything. He didn't want Jack to just admit to being his friend, he wanted Jack to see that they might be more than that.
Before Jack could make excuses, Ianto leaned over and grabbed him, planting his lips firmly against Jack's. He was mildly thrilled when Jack kissed back. As if Jack would ever waste a kiss, Ianto thought, trying not to smile.
Even if Jack pulled away, at least he'd had the courage to do it and to throw convention and all his old belief systems out the window. He'd been given a chance to live any kind of life he wanted, all he had to do was live it.
