Summary: Andy can see trouble ahead with his new detective inspector. A triple drabble.

'Get the other end of that street cordoned off,' came the order to Andy.

'Aye, sir,' he said with a sigh. Still, at least he was at the scene, and the new DI was speaking to him as if he expected Andy to get involved. If he did a good job maybe this new bloke would put in a good word for him. If he didn't make sergeant soon…

'What the bloody hell's going on here, eh?' the detective inspector muttered, turning at the roar of an engine, just in time to see a large black SUV pull up right alongside the police tape.

Andy didn't even have to look to know who it was. 'That'll be the cavalry,' he jokingly replied.

'The cav–' DI Mackenzie sputtered. 'I didn't order a SOCO van. Who authorised this?' He bore down on Andy. 'Was it you?'

'Not SOCO, sir. Torchwood,' he quickly answered. 'They don't wait for an invitation.' That was their case officially over, Andy thought, along with any opportunity to shine.

Mackenzie raised a scary eyebrow at him. 'Torchwood? What's that?'

Andy swallowed back his disbelief. 'Don't you know?' Did he really have to explain? 'How long have you been in Cardiff?'

'Long enough to know how law enforcement works,' came the gruff reply.

'They handle the "out of the box" cases,' Andy said, trying for subtlety. He didn't look like a man who would believe in aliens.

'Like bloody hell they are!' he fumed, marching directly over with a large pointed fist at the man in the large army greatcoat now ducking under the police tape. 'You! Get out of my crime scene right now! D'you hear me? I'll have the lot of you arrested!'

Andy pulled his police cap down tightly on his head. 'Oh, arse,' he murmured.
