Summary: Ianto is fed up with Jack's lessons. A double drabble.
‘Nope,’ Jack said. ‘Try it again.’
Ianto growled in frustration, sick of having to repeat the same thing over and over again, still not getting it right, according to Jack anyway. He was usually a quick study, so this was really starting to get on his nerves now. He went through the motions again anyway, determined that this would be the last time.
‘No, still not right,’ Jack said, frowning at him like he was disappointed. There was nothing he hated more than Jack’s disappointed face, especially when he was the one doing all the disappointing.
‘No, no, no,’ Jack said, cutting him off before he’d scarcely begun.
‘Forget it!’ Ianto said, throwing his hands up in the air. ‘You go meet with them.’
‘Not my job,’ Jack reminded him. ‘They want to talk with Torchwood’s international head. That’s you. They don;t negotiate with anyone else, and this could be–’
‘The biggest exchange of intelligence and technology this planet has ever been offered. I don't need you reminding me of the stakes.’ He sighed. ‘Can’t we just dispense with the hand-shaking?’
‘It’s a huge part of their diplomatic customs. It has to be right.’
‘Fine. Let’s try it again.’
‘Nope,’ Jack said. ‘Try it again.’
