Rating: PG
Length: 200 words
Summary: Music turns out to be useful for taming even the wildest beast. A double drabble.
‘I don't know how much more of this I can take,’ Owen groaned, leaning all the way back in his chair until he was practically lying in it. He stuck his fingers in his ears and groaned a sigh of relief.
‘I'll admit, it's not to everyone's taste,’ Jack replied, rifling through Tosh's drawer for a spare pair of her noise cancelling foam plugs. ‘There's only so much death metal a person can listen to before realising it really isn't music at all.’
‘If it's that or having the hub torn apart by a category four dangerous creature, I'll put up with a few bleeding ears,’ Ianto added. ‘It's currently napping, by the way, though don't ask me how.’
‘Just so long as it stays that way until the Shadow Proclamation can get here and take it off our hands,’ Jack said, finding not one, but two pairs of plugs and offering the second pair to Ianto.
‘I'll pop down to the charity shop and see if I can find any more CDs.’
‘Afraid our guest is going to get sick of the same album on repeat?’
‘Music may soothe the savage beast, but variety keeps it from getting bored.’
