Summary: No one is particularly happy about their assigned tasks. A double drabble.
Owen grunted as he forced the broom across the Plass. 'Of all the sodding days,' he complained. 'It rains every bloody day in this city except the one day you actually want it to,' he carried on grumbling.
'Just shut up and keep sweeping,' Jack said, his own brow covered in a sheen of sweat to match the dark patches of his shirt under his armpits. 'I want all of this cleaned up before anyone goes home,' he said, making sure Gwen and Tosh also heard his instruction. The spores, whilst not deadly did have some nasty psychological effects once airborne. The only way to get rid of them was with water and wet brooms, sweeping all the spore laden water up into a single repository where it could be safely disposed of.
'All this sweeping is menial work,' Owen said. 'My back is going to ache for days.'
'Be grateful you're not on the receiving end!' Ianto yelled out from the hatch near the water tower, hovering just below the opening to catch their run off. 'I'm stuck down here having spore water sloshed all over me. I'll swap your sweeping any day.'
'Should've worn your raincoat,' Owen teased.
