Rating: PG
Length: 200 words
Summary: Gwen's wedding plans have left her exhausted. A double drabble.
‘Earth to Gwen,’ Ianto said, shaking her shoulder gently. She bolted upright, nearly headbutting him in the process. ‘I’m awake, I’m awake!’ she said.
‘Could've fooled me,’ he replied, giving her one of his cheeky smiles. ‘I don’t remember you being out on nightly weevil catching duties.’
She rubbed a hand across her face. ‘It’s this bloody wedding. Do you know how hard is it to race around in between rift alerts to arrange flowers and cutlery and bridesmaid dresses and cakes?’
‘Fortunately I don’t,’ he replied. He didn’t think he wanted to know. ‘Although, if you need a volunteer to test out different cakes, I know someone who would gladly put up their hand for that responsibility.’
‘I don't know who you mean,’ she teased, both of them knowing Jack would relish any opportunity involving sweets.
‘You could always ask Jack for a few days off to arrange things,’ he suggested. ‘Planning a wedding sounds more like a marathon than a race.’
‘Maybe you’re right,’ she agreed. ‘You only get married once, right?’
‘With luck,’ he said. ‘Unless of course you’re a fifty-first century immortal, I suppose,’ he added thoughtfully.
‘No wedding bells for you?’
‘God, I hope not.’
