Summary: An important piece of Torchwood equipment is lying in pieces. A double drabble.
Gwen frowned, seeing the kitchenette littered with bits of machinery, metal springs and screws. Ianto was peering into the dismantled bowels with a small torch.
'I thought Jack was the one who liked to pull things apart and put them back together?' she said, wondering if Ianto had always been a tinkerer or if he inherited it from Jack. She frowned again. 'Where's the… Ah.'
'Yep,' Ianto replied, confirming that the missing coffee machine was the thing now lying there in a hundred little bits. 'It wasn't working and you know Jack couldn't even get this thing to work when it was in one piece so…'
'Diagnosis?'
'A broken rotor blade, I'm pretty sure,' he said, poking his torch through a narrow gap and then sticking his fingers in there for a root around. 'Yup. That'd be why it wouldn't grind the beans.'
'Can you fix it?'
'I'll have to order the replacement part from Italy.'
'Oh dear,' Gwen said.
'Not good at all,' Ianto agreed. 'We all know what Jack will be like without his coffee for a week.' Like a bear with a stuck paw they both knew.
Gwen sighed. 'It's going to be a really long week.'
