Summary: Ianto simply hates being wrong. A double drabble.
'I told you we should have taken that turn-off a few miles back,' Jack said for the third time.
'Just shut up, okay?' Ianto sulked in the passenger seat, knowing full well that Jack was right and that it'd be another fifteen miles of motorway before they'd be able to turn themselves back around and get off at the exit they were meant to.
Jack let the awkward silence hang for a few minutes before the urge to speak became overwhelming. 'It's okay to be wrong every now and then, you know,' he said, hoping Ianto would take it in the humble spirit in which it was intended.
'I'm not wrong!' he cried out, making Jack jump a little in his seat. 'It's this!' he added gesticulating at the large belly protruding in front of him, and how the seatbelt only just seemed to cinch around it with barely an inch to spare. 'It's very distracting!'
Jack sympathised. Ianto couldn't bring himself to use the term "baby brain" to explain his recent less than perfect memory recall and impaired intellect, but it was true. Jack had simply assumed that they might laugh about it. Apparently pride was a fragile thing.
