Summary: Jack has overstepped his remit. A double drabble.
Ianto was nearly bungled over as Jack came flying out of the club’s rear exit. It was only as he felt his jacket being tugged that he realised Jack hadn’t run into him because he hadn't seen him but because he had fistfuls of Ianto's clothing.
‘Move!’ Jack commanded, Before Ianto could ask, they were running towards the SUV. Gwen must have seen them because the engine roared into life moments before they reached the doors, which was fortunate as that was when the laserfire started, missing them both by mere inches as they threw themselves inside.
‘You idiot!’ Gwen scolded, ducking as a wave of gunfire strafed the front of the SUV. ‘You cheating, bloody idiot!’
‘Just drive!’ Jack said, pointing out the windscreen where the aliens were lumbering into a minivan between rounds of weapons fire.
‘What happened?’ Ianto asked, clipping in his seatbelt as Gwen floored it after the van.
‘He cleaned out the entire alien casino,’ she replied, ‘and blew his cover in the process.’
‘The two weren’t connected, I assure you,’ Jack said. ‘They just couldn’t handle my poker face.’
‘And now instead of bringing them down quietly, they’re on the run, shooting at us.’
