Summary: Jack has gotten himself in trouble again. A double drabble.
Ianto didn't even say a word as Jack walked in through the front door. His face did all the talking for him, a black eye, a cut just above that and significant purpling down the side of his face all the way down to the jaw. Nothing said fist fight like the state of Jack's face.
He internalised a sigh and wandered into the kitchen to fetch an ice pack from their freezer, wrapping it in a tea towel before coming back out to find Jack slumped on their sofa. He sat down beside him and offered up the ice pack. Jack silently pressed it to his face.
‘That cut is probably going to need stitches,’ Ianto remarked, studying the injuries more closely.
‘Tomorrow,’ Jack mumbled, sounding like he'd lost a tooth in the process as well.
‘Your big mouth got you in trouble again, didn't it?’ Ianto asked, knowing Jack had been out late, trying to question less than reputable sources.
Jack pulled away the ice pack with a forlorn guilty look. Ianto reached across and kissed his cheek
‘Ow, ow, ow!’
‘Sorry. I was trying to be extra careful. You might try that yourself one of these days.’
