Summary: Jack reaches Tosh just in time to prevent disaster. A double drabble.
Tosh could hear the roar of the SUV coming up behind her. She groaned and turned around as it swung up beside her, merely a foot from the driver side window as the brakes squealed to a halt and Jack rolled down the window. In practically the middle of nowhere, down a quiet street in an industrial part of town, she wondered how they’d managed to track her down so quickly.
‘Jack, it’s my day off!’ she told him in no uncertain terms. Couldn’t they do without her for just one day?
‘I know,’ Jack replied. ‘I also know that you happen to be investigating something on your “day off”’, he added, using quote fingers. ‘You were about to walk into that warehouse over there, weren’t you?’ He asked, pointing at a run down looking place that had a rusted sign out front which read “Bute Timber Yards”.
‘Well, yes, but–’
‘Don’t,’ Jack warned her. ‘We just got a whole lot of crazy rift activity flare up in that building. Gwen and Owen have cordoned off a three mile block. It’s lucky we found you when we did or chances are you’d have been sucked into another universe by now.’
