‘Owen and Tosh, sitting in a tree…’ Jack sing-songed in a mocking tone as he came up behind Owen, rearranging his medical bay. Whatever he’d been up to these past three days, some bastard had managed to upend everything down here and nothing was where he normally stowed it.
‘Shove it, Harkness,’ Owen sneered, fed up with the endless teasing.
‘Oh, come on,’ Jack said, leaning casually against the railing. ‘Just admit you sent those flowers to Tosh and we’ll all stop ragging on you about it.’
Owen snorted. ‘As if that will happen,’ he replied. Neither the admission nor the fact that his teammates were ever going to let him forget about it. ‘I swear I didn’t buy them. Any idiot can have them write a fake message on the card.’
‘Well, they did say they were meant as an apology. That part at least does sound like you.’
‘How so?’
‘The needing to apologise for being an arse part,’ Jack replied. ‘Of course,’ he added, ‘if you sent flowers every time you were an arse, this place would look like a florist.’
Owen huffed. ‘Don’t you have work to do?’
‘I do. I also prefer tulips. Just saying.’
