Summary: Jack doesn't have time for lying down. A double drabble.
‘I told you we should have taken a taxi,’ Gwen grumbled, making her annoyance known to Jack.
‘You try explaining where we’re trying to go in Chinese,’ he replied, still leaning a little heavily on her as they turned from one narrow street into another, unsure if they were still headed in the right direction.
Gwen thrust the map across their bodies and threw her annoyed glance past him. ‘Oswald, here. Take this and see if you can’t figure out where we are. As for you,’ she said, turning back to Jack, ‘you need to stop and rest.’
‘I’m fine,’ he lied, trying to remove her hands from his shoulders as she tried to force him to sit. Sitting was worse than walking as his gunshot wound just refused to heal properly.
‘I’d do what the lady says,’ Oswald replied.
‘Says the man who rapes girls,’ Jack retorted.
‘I did my time,’ Danes replied. ‘I’m a changed man now, Jack. Reformed.’
Jack found the energy to roll his eyes. ‘Honestly, I'm fine. Let's just keep going until we find the place. Then I promise you I'll get some rest.’
Gwen narrowed her eyes at him. ‘Why don’t I believe you?’
