Summary: Jack has his priorities all wrong. A double drabble.
Ianto yawned so wide he felt his jaw lock painfully, having to massage the muscles back into place, wishing he hadn’t yawned at all. Four weevil captures in one night, he complained. That’s got to be some kind of record. Not only for the number of weevils but also the time it had taken him and Jack to wrangle them all. Usually on a good night, it could take hours, and somehow they’d gone from one to the next between 11pm and 8am. They should have called in some additional backup but it had simply been one after the other rather than all at once. Either way, Ianto was knackered.
‘Put on some coffee for us?’ Jack said, stifling a yawn of his own.
‘Forget coffee, all we need is a bit of rest.’
Jack shook his head. ‘Not until we know why we’re suddenly getting every weevil in Cardiff deciding to go off the reservation. There’s got to be a reason for it.’
Curse Jack and his indefatigable determination. Ianto could see even Jack was tired. ‘Fat chance. I’m off to bed as should you. The others can figure it out.’
‘What about coffee?’
‘You get your own coffee.’
