Summary: Jack is the worst at following his own rules. A double drabble.
No one liked being assigned to light duties, even when they were injured to the point where trying to do their regular job was nigh on impossible. They baulked at Jack’s orders, had tantrums about it, even defied him completely by attempting to carry on regardless, but Jack always got what he wanted in the end. That was the perk of being the boss.
Trying to tell Jack he had to restrict himself to light duties was another matter altogether. He may have healed faster than the average twenty-first century human, but he still needed time to rest and recuperate just like everyone else.
‘I’m totally fine,’ he repeated for the umpteenth time, hoping that the next person who came along might be more sympathetic and common sense than the last.
Ianto looked at him in askance. ‘Several shattered limbs would argue otherwise,’ he replied, casting a look down at Jack's two leg casts, then at the one on his left arm all the way from wrist to shoulder.
‘Owen did not need to plaster these,’ Jack said, adding a disparaging frown. ‘I think he just likes the power trip.’
‘If you didn’t try to escape, it wouldn't be necessary.’
