Summary: Ianto has to deal with his co-workers, whatever they get up to. A double drabble.
‘Just so you both know, that was the last of the bail bond money allocated in this year’s budget,’ Ianto said as Jack and Owen clambered into the back of the SUV, both smelling like they needed a shower. Or several showers. ‘I don’t like to boast,’ he added, ‘but I think tonight was a personal best for me in filling out the paperwork in record time.’
‘Oh, would you shut up,?’ Owen moaned, not in the mood for any banter whatsoever. Just take us home, would you?
Ianto acquiesced, signalling before turning out into the traffic. Perhaps it was all as innocent as it appeared when he’d perused the paperwork. That his two teammates had simply been in the situation of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, but he suspected it was more likely the case that they’d been the architects of their own demise this time. Owen had a nose for trouble and Jack was like the irresponsible dog owner that simply let his pets off the leash to create whatever havoc they liked as they followed the scent. The fact that Jack hadn’t defended their actions spoke volumes.
‘Thanks,’ Jack mumbled.
Until next time.
