Summary: Alien Ikea is no better than Earth Ikea. A double drabble.
Ianto leaned back on his haunches and sighed, dropping the small booklet onto the floor beside him. ‘You know, I really don't think these are the right set of instructions.’
Tosh rolled out from under the device, wiping a sheen of sweat and grease from her brow. ‘I’ve dropped the allen key more times than I can count, but I think the undercarriage is almost attached.’ She winced as she heard the clunk of something dropping to the floor. ‘Sort of.’
Ianto rubbed his face, picked up the booklet again and consulted it. Jack assured them that it wouldn't be that hard to build a small crystal power generator from scratch. It would certainly be more reliable than their fuel-based one, and with the propensity for the city to lose power across the board, it simply made sense.
‘Have we even got a part that looks like a funny S shape with a bobble thingy on the end? I swear when we set everything out, we didn’t have one of those, and this says we should have three to hold the power modulator in place.’
‘Where did Jack get this kit from again?’
Ianto groaned. ‘I chose not to ask.’
