Summary: Jack and Ianto are dealing with the fallout of an epic temper tantrum. A double drabble.
It was tears all round at the Harkness-Jones household. All the joys of parenting had flown out the window and become a distant memory as three four year olds began to rage and bawl simultaneously. Buddy barked, joining in the temper tantrum with his own opinions on the matter.
‘Shush, Buddy!’ Ianto commanded. He didn’t need their labrador’s input. Buddy mostly ignored the instruction. He’d decided that if it was good enough for all the other little people in the room, it was good enough for him.
‘I told you not to dig your heels in,’ Jack said, cuddling one child and begging them to stop their tears. The child squirmed and bawled some more despite his efforts.
‘What’s wrong with apples?’ Ianto asked, trying to extract a slice from their son’s fingers before he threw that one across the room as well.
‘They wanted cookies,’ Jack replied.
‘Cookies are not lunch!’
‘They are at Torchwood. They’re practically a staple item.’
Ianto growled. ‘Not helping. Sweetie, no! Put that down! We do not throw toys at Buddy!’ He growled again. ‘This is your fault, Jack.’
‘How is it my fault?’
‘We could’ve handled one child, but you gave me three!’
