Summary: Jack's symptoms are destructive and painful. A double drabble.
Ianto had seen Jack in a bad way more times than he cared to remember. Jack had been shot and stabbed and run over and burned – each of them horrific in their own way – but nothing had prepared him for the sight of Jack sealed behind the hub’s own transparent containment cell walls.
Jack was covered in blood, lying there in a mess of it, seemingly out of it, which could only be a good thing, Ianto decided, abandoning all commonsense and safety protocol. He was inside the cell in seconds, ready to give whatever aid he could.
He’d thought things were bad before with people out on the streets losing their minds because of some virus, but seeing Jack like this was so much worse. His hands were covered in more blood, the reason for which became evident when Ianto noticed the chunks of flesh wedged under Jack’s fingernails. He hadn’t just scratched himself to the point of drawing blood. He’d torn the skin away completely, exposing muscle and bone. Ianto nearly vomited at the sight of it. It would take Jack hours to heal, and they didn’t have hours. They needed Jack whole and well to fight this.
