Summary: Jack has to live with the consequences of his actions. A double drabble.
Ianto kissed Jack for a protracted period of time before he felt Ianto's palms on his chest, pushing him away. Jack's lips left his reluctantly and he opened his eyes to find Ianto's head bowed in front of him, unable to meet Jack's gaze.
'I'm sorry,' Ianto whispered.
Jack immediately felt the guilt sink down his throat and settle in his stomach like a lead weight. Ianto wasn't the one who should be sorry. Jack only had himself to blame for Ianto being unable to keep touching him. It didn't stop Jack leaning forward to resume their kissing, but he was pushed away again.
Jack's head sank. 'We're never going to fix this, are we?'
Ianto's hand rested on his shoulders as his forehead made contact, leaning heavily against Jack's brow. 'I'm trying,' Ianto murmured. 'Really.'
Jack knew he wasn't lying, but he was never going to forgive Jack for what he'd done, sacrificing a child's life. He should have just been grateful that Ianto would even entertain letting Jack back into his life. For how long though? How long until Ianto could bear to even look at the child murdering monster Jack had become?
'Keep trying,' Jack begged. 'Please.'
