Summary: Jack is subject to a diagnosis no one expected. A double drabble.
Owen paused his prodding and gave Jack another hard stare. ‘You're absolutely certain that you're not pregnant?’
Jack rolled his eyes. ‘Of course not. Don't you think I'd know if I was?’
‘Well, there was that last time,’ Ianto said, coming to check on their patient, ‘when you carried that octopus thing almost to full term before anyone knew what was what.’
‘That was totally different,’ Jack insisted. ‘Trust me, I'd know.’
‘Well, that's mildly relieving.’ He turned to Owen. ‘So, we're back to mystery stomach lump?’
‘Seems so. I was just about to do an ultrasound. Shouldn't be anything in that tech that could upset it.’
‘Yes, because I don't need you rupturing whatever it is,’ Jack added.
‘Okay, so let's find out what we're dealing with,’ Owen announced, squeezing cold gloop onto Jack's stomach that made him squeal. Owen pressed the scanner across the skin moving it around to get the lump on the screen. He peered at it for a while without speaking. Ianto consulted it as well.
‘So? What is it? Alien larvae? Enlarged kidney? God, it's not cancer is it?’
Owen turned and frowned. ‘How the hell did you get a tennis ball in there?’
