torchwood100Summary: Ianto's lack of enthusiasm is quietly appealing to Jack. A double drabble.
‘Come on, Ianto! Where’s your sense of adventure?’
Ianto frowned at Carly. ‘On the ground. With your popped grape.’
Jack had to grin at the response, so dry and humourless. Hearing Ianto be so unenthused about the inherent perils of what they were attempting amused him. Ianto was almost always nonchalant in the face of danger, brushing it off as merely part of the job. He’d caught that bug from Jack, considering deadly danger as just par for the course. Perhaps it was an unhealthy way of viewing the world, but in their line of work it was simply necessary.
It amused Jack mostly because he'd partly assumed that Ianto would want to impress his old flame, or at least show he still had it. He'd been dodging questions about their relationship ever since Jack had begun prying, about two seconds after Ianto had hung up the phone. Jack had no qualms about poking around in other people's love lives, particularly those of people he was currently bedding.
Clearly Ianto had moved on, which was also reassuring. Jack wasn’t good at being the jealous lover, taking a back seat to exes. It turned out Jack was enough adventure for Ianto.
