Summary: The team are fed up with the weather and decide to do something about it. A double drabble.
‘When is this rain ever going to stop?’ Gwen complained, shaking herself off and dumping her umbrella into her bin. ‘Honestly, I can’t remember having so many days of consecutive bad weather.’
‘I know,’ Tosh replied. ‘It’s been awful even by Cardiff standards. I’m running out of dry shoes and the ones by the radiator are so wet they take days to dry out.’
‘If only we had something to fix the weather,’ Gwen mused, making a pointed stare in Ianto’s direction.
‘You know we’re not allowed to touch that thing, don’t you?’ he replied, knowing exactly what she meant. Jack put it in the secure archives for a reason.
‘Oh, come on Ianto,’ Owen said, joining in. ‘We’re all bloody miserable here. What’s the point in having something that can alter atmospheric pressure if we never use it? Just one little freak heatwave and a bit of sunshine, that’s all we’re asking.’
‘Heat wave?’ came the sceptical reply.
‘Yeah. A proper one. Low thirties. Beach weather.’
‘Isn’t that a bit noticeable?’
‘Jack’ll never know. He’ll be chasing around looking for another one of those things. Or just getting shirtless, enjoying it like us.’
‘I think you just sold me.’
