Summary: Torchwood has its work cut out for it. A double drabble.

‘It's just a bit of a dent,’ came the assessment from the alien ship's captain as it stood there underneath the huge vessel and looked up, tentacled appendages resting on its hips.

‘A bit more than a dent,’ Jack replied, making his own assessment. The whole side of the spacecraft was crushed in, creating a huge inward gash that had been very lucky not to breach the hull, killing everyone inside. Whilst many things passed through the rift without a scratch, this ship had clearly been trapped inside the rift with some kind of asteroid or other dangerous space debris.

‘We just need to transport it to your nearest workshop where they can refit a whole new side panel. Shouldn't take them long.’

Jack cringed. In any other part of the universe you were never far from somewhere that could do repairs of that size. Torchwood could fix minor things or repairs to technical systems, but the kind of reinforced hull metal required and the sheer size of it… It would be weeks to reconstruct the hull. ‘Yeah, about that…’

‘I know,’ the captain replied. ‘Small dents like this are probably not worth your effort.’

Jack nodded. ‘Something like that.’

Oooh, sticky situation. How do you explain earth doesn't have that technology? Maybe there's a spare side-panel in the archives...
