Subject: Apology
Jack,
I know you're supposed to come check on me tomorrow. Just thought I'd save you the bother. I know you have a million more important things to do.
I’ve had a lot of time to think whilst I’ve been on suspension and I just wanted to say how sorry I am. There’s no excuse for what I did, putting everyone in so much danger. I was stupid and I was wrong and you had every right to shoot me. If I hadn’t messed things up so badly, she might have gotten loose.
She tried to convert Dr Tanazaki but it failed. Maybe next time she would have figured it out. I would have been her next victim. Her first soldier. Then you would have had no reason not to kill me.
If you don't want me back, then that’s okay. I’m not sure I’d want me back. Let me know by reply email. That might be for the best, so that I don’t have to come back at all. You can tell the others I resigned, that way you won’t have to make excuses. It’s probably for the best.
