Jack dropped a heavy stack of files on the desk, making a loud “whump!” sound to get Ianto’s attention.
Ianto paused, put his pen down and looked slowly up at Jack. ‘More?’ came the question, taking in the smug, slightly accomplished look on Jack's face.
‘Yup. I’m on a roll today,’ he said, enthusiastically picking up yet another pile from the box that had been demanding his attention for weeks.
Ianto’s eyebrows furrowed at his boss. ‘Strange though that suddenly you’re all keen to get administration done. Makes me wonder what it is that you’re using these for as a procrastination for something else.’
‘I don’t know what you mean, Ianto Jones,’ came the reply, tinged with incredulity at the suggestion. ‘My job requires me to sign off on all the reports prepared by the team. I’m simply using the opportunity whilst things are quiet to get up to date with that very important task.’
‘Mmm…’ Ianto hummed. ‘Well, so long as they’re getting done so that I can file them, I suppose I shouldn’t complain.’
‘No, you really shouldn’t,’ Jack replied. Just so long as the Prime Minister didn't try calling on the reception number, Ianto would never know.
