Summary: Jack knows when there's something in the hub, disturbing his sensibilities. A double drabble.
Achoo! The violence of Jack’s sneeze nearly sent him backwards and through the window behind his desk. He growled, reaching for his handkerchief, finding it sodden and using it anyway. ‘Ianto!’ he yelled, not caring how annoyed he sounded or how rude it was to summon people by yelling at them.
He didn’t wait for a response, merely carrying on talking as soon as he heard those sharp footsteps approaching. ‘There’s a bloody cat in the hub!’
‘I gathered that from your sneezing, sir. Otherwise it would be strangely ill-timed hayfever given it’s the middle of winter.’
‘Make it go away,’ Jack replied, adding another honk into his handkerchief. ‘And by away, I mean permanently.’ Jack had little fondness for cats and was not opposed to only seeing them represented barbequed on a stick at a street food caravan in a foreign country.
‘It’s probably just looking for somewhere warm to kip,’ Ianto replied, who clearly liked cats far more than Jack.
‘I don’t care. Find it and get rid of it.’
‘You want me to find one cat in the vastness of the hub?’
‘Yes.’
‘Wouldn’t you be better placed, sir? After all, you have a natural detection system.’
