torchwood100Summary: Ianto has gotten back into running, but there's still one aspect he hates. A triple drabble.
Ianto bent over as he came to a stop, hands resting on his knees for a moment before pausing to check his watch. Nearly ninety seconds shaved off his best time, that was very decent, even if he did say so himself. The way things were going, he might even be fit enough in time to tackle the Cardiff marathon.
Getting back into running had its benefits. Not that he didn’t do plenty in the line of duty, but he felt better physically, fitter than he had in years. It gave him time to clear his head and just observe the city as it sped by. A pity he couldn’t convince Jack to join him, or perhaps he was just embarrassed that Ianto might leave him for dead.
He walked the final three blocks back to the house, warming down and nearly bumping into Jack at the front door as they intersected, Jack heading out to collect the newspaper that Ianto had already picked up on his way in.
‘Someone’s worked up a lather,’ Jack commented, leering from the doorway.
Ianto nodded, wiping his brow and feeling the way his t-shirt clung to the back of him, saturated from his run all the way to the barrage and back. ‘The only part of running I dislike,’ he replied. The burn in his legs and the tightness in his lungs he could enjoy, but the slickness of being covered in sweat was just plain unpleasant.
‘I don’t know about that,’ Jack said. ‘Some species would find that quite sexy.’
Ianto rolled his eyes. Of course Jack would have to find a way to weave in some innuendo and it wasn’t even six thirty yet. ‘Not this species,’ he replied. ‘Now, get out of the way so that I can go shower.’
